FY25 Development Intern

Program Goal

The goal of the Development Internship is to support Metro Chicago Hillel and its staff in a variety of projects and assignments in order to learn professional skills, keys to fundraising success, and to immerse yourself in the operation of a non-profit organization. This position is a paid internship: $20/hour (up to $1,600 per semester) and reports to the Strategic Operations Specialist.


Requirements

  • Current college student

  • A self-starter who takes initiative

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks

  • Strong communicator and campus leader

  • Willingness to serve in role as Development Intern 5 hours/week during regular weekday business hours

  • Professionalism and past work experience preferred


Intern Tasks

  • Direct Mail: Assist with all facets of the end of the year direct mail solicitation

  • Donor Outreach: Call and thank all recent donors

  • Donor Research: Research names of incoming students along with parent information, donor research on existing parents and prospects

  • Alumni Programming: Work with staff, Board members, and young alumni to put on programming for young alumni to keep them engaged in Jewish life after college

  • Parent/Donors Communications: Format MailChimp and social media communications to be sent to parents/donors of Hillel, including solicitations for Giving Tuesday, Passover, Hillel Global Giving Week

  • Other Potential Duties on case by case basis
