Taylor Swift enthusiast, expert challah baker, pop culture junkie
Emily Kopka is the Director of Student Engagement for Metro Chicago Hillel. She received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. During her time in college, she spent lots of time engaged in Jewish life through Hillel, Challah for Hunger, Jewish Greek Life, and teaching Sunday School. This work, along with her background in education, is what inspired her to start a career as a Jewish professional! She served as the Innovation Springboard Fellow at UMass Hillel in Amherst, MA for two years and then continued as the Director of Student Leadership & Communication for another year after that. Emily’s favorite part about Hillel is creating long lasting impactful experiences for students, specifically around leadership development, engagement skills, and relationship building. After spending a year working in training and development, she is so excited to return to Hillel and be a part of MCH!
In her free time, you're most likely to find Emily at a concert, hammocking by the lake, rebuilding her Animal Crossing island for the 100th time, or at the local craft/book/plant store.
